Community Service
We know that when young people take on community service projects they benefit greatly from their volunteer work, gaining memorable experiences and building strong and admirable character traits. Through the students’ community service work, they are given the opportunity to see life from a cross-section of perspectives, giving them a sense of humility and gratitude for their own lives. At Tipton Christian Academy, we inspire our children and families to view service not merely as an obligation to fulfill, but as a way of life.
1 John 3:18-19 makes clear the expectation of serving others in the Christian life: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in His presence.” (NIV)
High School students are required to complete a certain number of community service hours before graduation.
Class of 2023: 10 hours
Class of 2024: 20 hours
Class of 2025: 30 hours
Class of 2026: 40 hours
Community service hours can be earned by completing any service type project for which the student is not receiving payment, credit or other compensation. These hours can be in conjunction with service hours completed through TCA's athletic program.
