Government Club

TCA still enjoys the only Model UN and Youth in Government programs in Tipton County. The high school participates in both Model UN and Youth in Government.  At Model UN, students are assigned countries and work in teams to present resolutions to a Mock UN.  Students learn and compete in debates about their resolution topics.  Other opportunities include working in the international courts, the Security Council, or the press corps.  

For Youth in Government in the spring, students tackle issues at the state level, writing legislation to better the state of Tennessee.  Students learn parliamentary procedure and compete by debating their legislation.  Other commonly utilized opportunities include working as a lobbyist, in the press corps, or on the Supreme Court.

Members of the high school program serve as chairpersons and lead the debates at middle school conferences.  Middle school events function similarly to high school but with a focus solely on debate.
