HOSA

TCA’s HOSA class was started at the request of TCA alumna Sloane Sullivan (2023). She and the Class of 2023 had a strong interest in the medical field and wanted to get a head start on preparing for future medical professions. Now, each school year, the HOSA class participates in the HOSA State Leadership Conference (SLC) in Chattanooga, TN, where they compete in a variety of medical‑related events, both individually and in groups. Throughout the school year, students work on their competitions and prepare to perform at SLC.

Over the past few years, TCA is proud to say that they have placed both First and Second Place in Medical Reading, achieved by Anna Grace Harchfield (2025). She also had the amazing opportunity to participate in the HOSA International Leadership Conference.
The HOSA advisors—Mrs. Rebekah McFarland, a licensed athletic trainer, and Ms. Emily Gray, a registered nurse—are a tremendous support to every competing HOSA student. Each student greatly appreciates their time, guidance, and dedication to helping them succeed.
